PROFESSIONAL TRAINING and EDUCATION:
I am a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification Certified DBT Clinician with over 10 years of experience providing evidence-based treatments. After earning my doctoral degree from La Salle University, I had the privilege of completing a one-year internship at Yale University in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Intensive Outpatient Program, where I received specialized training in providing DBT to individuals with borderline personality disorder. During this period, I also completed the intensive training in DBT developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan, the founder of DBT. Subsequently, following my graduation, I was granted the opportunity to complete my postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania in Aaron T. Beck’s Psychopathology Research Center, where I worked directly under the supervision of Dr. Beck, the founder of Cognitive Therapy. Upon completing my postdoctoral training, I was further awarded a Research Associate position to continue working with Dr. Beck.
CONTINUOUS LEARNING:
In 2017, I became a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification Certified DBT Clinician, demonstrating my expertise in dbt therapy and commitment to providing high-quality psychology services. This board certification is a year-long, rigorous process involving multiple steps to certify that I provided adherent dialectical behavior therapy to the standards set by the research and Dr. Linehan, the treatment developer. In addition, I have completed multiple trainings in DBT-Prolonged Exposure. In these trainings, I was trained to incorporate Prolonged Exposure, the gold standard evidence-based treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, into a dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) framework, further expanding the psychology services we offer to clients seeking comprehensive care at the Center for Acceptance and Change.
I believe that by combining compassion and commitment, together we can overcome the obstacles that create suffering in your life
